DESCRIPTION: Hamilton Watch Co., Lancaster, Penn., marine chronometer with wind indicator, 14 jewels, key wind and set, straight line damascened nickel plate movement, with spring detent escapement, free sprung chronometer balance and helical hairspring, Arabic numeral metal dial, black painted steel spade and poker hands, mounted in a gimbaled brass bowl with screw bezel, and contained in a brass bound mahogany box, and with outer mahogany carrying case with leather strap, serial #2E7381, c1941
CONDITION: Outer case with scuffs and scratches from use, leather strap intact, interior of case dirty and with a slightly musty odor, inner box very good, with a few minor marks and adhesive residue on top, brass hardware clean and bright, gimbals and bowl polished and lacquered, bezel and glass good, dial a bit dirty, and with minor scratches and spotting, hands good, hour and minute with bent tips, movement with minor scratches, very dirty and oily, running well, but should be cleaned in order to prevent wear
